Mehreen Arshi is a Pakistani-born, Australia-raised writer based in Canberra. With fifteen years of experience in scientific research and writing, she now explores human behaviour through fiction.
Her writing examines how private desires and cultural identity shape people’s lives, decisions and sense of self. Drawing on her experience across cultures, she opens up conversations about the taboos that can be difficult to discuss.
An alumna of Faber Writing Academy, Mehreen has a passion for beautifully crafted narratives. She writes book reviews and essays, with a focus on what makes a story come alive, and is currently working on her second novel.
Beyond her writing, Mehreen is a mentor with Fearless Women in Canberra, supporting girls and young women through its mentoring programme.
